Hay-Ku of the Day (The American Dream)

(Holding Together or Pulling Apart Photo)

Holding Together or Pulling Apart (2010);This particular rendition of Old Glory has special meaning with regard to having been up there (up-close and personal, one might say) in the middle of "bombs bursting in air" during AC-119K Stinger Gunship days; Companion haiku: Accompanying.

"My American Dream"
Is to share the Good News: "You
Are not what you think!"

[Rich Note: I did a radio show with Stanley El (who was briefly mentioned in the "Out of the Mouths of Babes," Sasha blog last month) called "The American Dream" (Stanley is not only the most "Christ-Like" man I know but the most "Legitimately Patriotic" one I know, as well) this past Wednesday afternoon.

Well, Stanley, in order to put what had been shared (most of which related to a personal "Mother of All Wake-Up Calls/NDE" that occurred during an emergency bailout in Vietnam, Class of 1970), pretty much non-stop for 20 minutes, back into the context of his program's actual theme and format, asked how the "war story" I had been telling related to "My American Dream."

Although I don't recollect the specific answer given at the time, the question reverberated for a while and subsequently resurfaced as today's Hay-Ku -- an offering that not only addresses the whys and wherefores of Hay-Ku itself, but three-years worth of Blogging and a book entitled: "Out of My Mind and Back to My Senses" (OOMM: a "Labor of Love" often referred to as a 40 Year State of the Head Message).

Seen in this light, this particular Hay-Ku is is simply a "down and dirty personal mission statement" -- abet couched in "American Dream" terms -- as has yet surfaced.]
