Hay-Ku of the Day (Memorial)

"God Bless and Keep" to
A long ago comrade who
Didn't make it home.

A 2014 Memorial Day Tribute to Technical Sgt. Clyde B. Alloway, a long-ago friend, fellow aircrew member and comrade in arms, who didn't make it back from Vietnam:

After more than 43 years, my general recollection of Vietnam is 3 months of "learning the job," 6 months of "cowboys and Indians," and 3 months of a “guy could get killed doing this."

What I do remember quite vividly, however, is the night of June 6th, 1970; the night we lost TSgt Clyde B. Alloway during an AC-119K Gunship emergency bailout after takeoff from DaNang Air Base, RVN.

The following poem was written as a tribute to Clyde in 1982 for a 4th of July POW/MIA speech [which can pretty much be summed up: "There are no good wars, only good men!" (a line mentioned during the talk a reporter who heard the speech asked to use)] I was honored make:

To One Left Behind

To one left Behind,
Who lives on in my mind;
To one I left there,
Beyond worry and care;
Who lives on in my heart,
And from whom I can’t part.
Though not with me here,
He has nothing to fear,
His duty is done,
And mine only begun;
For though gone from my sight,
I’ll still carry his light;
Nor forget what he’s done,
As a true, faithful son.

1982 Rich Hay

[Rich Note: Have to admit feeling a lot like the aged Private Ryan did at the end of "Saving Private Ryan," at least with regard to the 40 plus years of life I have been blessed to live since that “long ago night when our plane and crew went down and one of us didn’t make it home."]

Hay-Ku of the Day ("The Headless Way")

"I Am Seeing" out
Of the "Open Awake Space"
Atop my shoulders.

"I Am Seeing" out
Of the "Nothingness" of the
"Awake Space" I Am.

***

The "Awake Space" now
Perched on my shoulders is
What Consciousness Is.

The "Awake Space" now
Perched on my shoulders is
Letting "What Is" Be.

***

As the "Seeing Space"
Perched on my shoulders I Am
"Being Awareness."

As the "Seeing Space"
Perched on my shoulders I Am
"Consciousness Itself."

As the "Seeing Space"
Perched on my shoulders I Am
"Full of Everything."

***

"Unconditioned Space"
Is Very Happy to Let
"Conditioned Space" Be.

The Unconditioned
Awake Space I Am is Full
Of Everything Else.

The "That Which Is" of
Conditioned Space Exists in
Unconditioned Space.

Hay-Ku of the Day (Single-Eyed vs. Double-Minded)

A "Double-Minded"
Perspective turns "Single-Eyed"
Heaven into Hell.

"Double-Minded" means
An "egocentric state" of
Mind and Consciousness.

"Single-Eyed" means a
Unified State of Mind or
Non-Dual Awareness.

"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (James 1:8 KJV)

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil (Re: double), thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!"  (Matthew 6:22-23 KJV)

Hay-Ku of the Day (Absolute Relatives)

Relativity
As a polar opposite
Implies Absolute.

Relativity
Requires a still observer
To know It's Present.

Science Worship is
Worshipping self-reflections
Instead of Being.

Worshiping Science
Is Worshipping the Letter
Instead of Its Source.

[Rich Note: These and the "pop-up response" that follows were inspired by a young friend, who seems, based on his comment and literal interpretation of Spiritual Light with respect to physical heat, to have swung to the materialistic side of the Mental Pendulum (of which the Balance Point, between all such apparent relative opposites is Pure, Still, Self-Transcendant "Awareness of Being" -- which naturally embraces and transcends all such relative mental extremes).]

Re: "Science -- if you believe in that sort of thing :)"

Yes, James, quite true, if one reads Scripture from the "partial perspective of relative thought, sense and feeling" (Re: from a "double-minded" instead of a "single-eyed" perspective -- with "head instead of Heart"); and, in so doing, unwittingly assumes "relativity" as an Absolute Premise (Re: as the "Ultimate Reality or Changeless Identity of Being").

However, James, if the "Unimaginable or Inconceivable Light of Heaven" being "pointed to" in that particular Scripture is seen (and so known) to be the  "Pure Light of Awareness I AM" -- as the One Absolute Singularity (Infinite Potential to Be) made Manifest as "The Sun of God I Am" -- It would naturally produce Absolutely Zero Heat, as a Perfectly Integral and Frictionless State of Pure Awareness of Being (Re: Life or Consciousness) that is opposed to Absolutely Nothing.

[Rich Note: "...Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." (2 Corinthians 3:5&6 KJV)]
