Hay-Ku of the Day (Mental Self Mastery)

Self-Mastery is
A Matter of Being the
Awareness I Am.

Being the Presence
Of the Awareness I Am
Is Mastering Mind.

Awareness Masters
The process of minding by
Seeing Selflessly.

***

I Am presently
Addicted to thinking self-
Referentially.

Addiction to thought
As a self-focused process
Blinds One to Being.

Human Being's an
Addiction to minding self-
Referential thought.

***

Identifying
With self-thought blinds the mind to
Being Awareness.

Identifying
With self-thought blinds me to the
Awareness I Am.

Identifying
With self-thought blinds me to the
Field of Awareness.

***

Identifying
With self-referential thought
Is "missing the mark."

"I miss the mark" if
I live self-identified
With relative thought.

***

Addiction to "me"
As a self-referenced thought
Causes amnesia.

Addiction to self-
Reflective thinking causes
Self-forgetfulness.

Addiction to self-
Referenced thinking causes
Divine amnesia.

***

Awareness that is
Self-Identified with thought
Is blind to Being.

As Awareness self-
Identified with thought I
Am blind to Myself.

Blind to Being the
Awareness I Am though my
Addiction to thought.

***

Paying Attention
To both Awareness and self
Thought's not possible.

Awareness can Be
Aware of Itself and thought
But thinking can not.

I can't master mind
Until it is seen from a
Higher perspective

***

I cannot master
Mind until I see It from
Outside the process.

I cannot master
Thought until it is seen from
Outside of the mind.

I can't master mind
Until I see It from a
Selfless Perspective.

***

To stop thinking I
Only have to See I must
Not be the thinker.

I can't think and Be
Aware I Am Awareness
In the same instant.

***

Mastering thought is
A matter of not minding
Thought at inception.

Stop labeling what
You See and simply Be Its
Witnessing Presence.

Seeing thought from the
Perspective of Awareness
"Sets the Captive Free."

***

A Master Mind is
One who has Seen he is the
Awareness of God

The Only Way to
Overcome myself is See
I Am Awareness.

Re: "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." Revelation 3:21-22 KJV

[Rich Note: Although these all go together. It may take come "Contemplation" to see it.]

Hay-Ku of the Day (Knowing Myself as I Am)

Knowing Another
Is Wisdom; Knowing Myself
Is Enlightenment.

Knowing Myself as
I Am in Spirit and Truth
Is Enlightenment.

***

Self-Ignorant to
The degree I think I am
Other than I AM.

Self-Ignorant to
The degree I Imagine
I am separate.

***

I Am Enlightened
Of the idea I am a
Separate person.

I Am Enlightened
Of the belief that I am
Other than I AM.

***

Enlightened when I
Recognize I Am That by
Which I Know I Am.

"To know others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment."  Lao Tzu

Hay-Ku of the Day (The Self-Shining Light I Am)

The Light I Am shall
Come to Outshine All I Now
Think myself to Be.

The Living Light of
God I Am will Outshine All
Mind can Imagine.

At some Point the Light
Of What I Am Outshines the
Light of what I think.

***

The Light I Am will
Eventually Outshine all
My self-conceptions.

The Light I Am will
Eventually Outshine all
Human conceptions.

The Light I Am will
Eventually Outshine All
That Was or Will Be

The Light I Am will
Eventually Outshine All
Conscious Existence.

"If you are seeking truth, reality, God or whatever you like to call it, I suggest that you start with the only reality you are absolutely certain of—that is the fact of your own being. There is no one sitting here who can say 'I am not'. Each one of us knows 'I am'. But that thought 'I am' is not the reality. It is the closest you will ever get to it with the mind. That 'I am' is just a translation by the mind of that sense of presence, the awareness of presence or the presence of that awareness. That is the only reality we are absolutely certain of. Nobody under any circumstances can say 'I am not'. That knowing is constantly and ever with us. And that is why we say that what you are seeking you already are.

"We base what we talk about here on what the ancient traditions tell us. In Advaita, for instance, they call it non-dual—one-without-a-second. The one-without-a-second part means that even one could imply that there is something other than one. In the Dzogchen scriptures they call it non-conceptual, ever-fresh, self-shining, presence awareness, just this and nothing else. And if you look at that, that is describing you, me and everything else. That presence of awareness is non-conceptual. You don't have to hold a concept about it. It's ever fresh because it has no beginning and no end. It is self-shining like the sun. It shines of itself. It doesn't need a light to say 'I am shining'. And that is what it is, just that which you cannot escape from, which you cannot get away from-presence-awareness..."

[Rich Note: Or more Biblically Speaking (with respect to "I Am" or the "I Am that I Am"), in order to provide rather "clear, cross-cultural, conceptual correlators":

"I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8 KJV

"...I AM the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, (the Absolute) but by me." John 14:6 KJV

"...lo, I AM with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20 KJV

"Be still, and know that I AM God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10 KJV

"And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." Exodus 3:14 KJV

"...I AM God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city." Hosea 11:9 KJV

"As long as I AM in the world, I AM the light of the world." John 9:5 KJV

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." Matthew 5:14 KJV

Haiku of the Day (The Animating Principle)

Life's Animating
Principle is the Divine
Awareness I Am.

"This Awareness of
Being I Am" is "the Way,
The Truth and the Life."

***

Divine Awareness
Breaths Life into Being through
Focused Attention.

The "Animating
Principle or Life Force" is
Focused Attention.

***

Quantum Awareness
Focused on particulars
Breaths Life into them.

Conscious attention
Is a Contracted State of
Quantum Awareness.

Conscious Attention
Collapses the Wave Function
Of Pure Awareness.

***

The mental objects
I pay attention to are
Thereby enlivened.

I make real in my
Imagination what I
Pay attention to.

I energize in
My mind whatever I fix
My attention on.

***

Focusing on what
I fear is manifesting
What I do not want.

Turning attention
Away from personal fear
"Pulls the Plug" on it.

"The Stoic philosophers identified the term (Logos or Word) with the divine animating principle pervading the Universe." Wikipedia

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (the Father, Absolute or Un-Manifest), and the Word was God” (the Son/Child, Relative or Manifest)  [John 1:1].

"In the beginning was the unconditioned awareness of being, and the unconditioned awareness of being became conditioned by imagining itself to be something, and the unconditioned awareness of being became that which it had imagined itself to be; so did creation begin." Neville Goddard

"Your nature is awareness, which uses the mind for the purpose of promoting survival. Once you start seeing this clearly, you’ll allow the mind to do what it does and not identify with it. This is how you awaken to your true nature. You don’t do anything to accomplish awakening, but simply ALLOW yourself to see what is real and lasting – which is awareness (your Presence)." Burt Harding

"One may say that at this moment consciousness seems to be filled with problems. But the believing that this is so merely gives authority to the seeming. We do not deny the seeming, we leave it, we let it alone and the power goes out of it. If the bird appears to eat a cricket, so what? Isness still Is, Perfection is still Perfect, All is still All, this Identity being us is still God’s Self Identification and nothing we say or believe, or do not say, or fail to understand, an alter this Fact one iota."  Bill Samuel

Hay-Ku of the Day (Seeing the Difference)

Father I wish to
See the difference between
Thought and Awareness

***

Lord God I wish to
Know the difference between
Awareness and mind.

Lord God I wish to
Feel the difference between
Thinking and Being.

***

I wish to See the
Difference between thinking
And Being Aware.

I wish to Know the
Difference between thinking
And Being Present.

Re: "What became clear to me is that ‘knowing’ the difference between thought and awareness is what tips the scales towards clarity, peace and acceptance."  Burt Harding

[Burt's quote is from an e-book entitled, "The Perfection of Awareness" (also available on Amazon in an greatly expanded version), which will show up in a Google search list if "Burt Harding PDF" is entered in the search engine.]

[Rich Note: Burt goes on to suggest the "priceless payoff" of learning to differentiate between thought and Awareness (of Being) as follows  :

"I can assure you that the understanding of the difference between awareness and thought and seeing their complimentary oneness brings far more benefit than can be imagined. Here are some benefits from this clarity:

"-- It will bring clarity and that’s the most important step in understanding.

"-- It will help you to see what is real as opposed to what is relative and unreal.

"-- It will bring peace because the attachment to thought starts to fall away through clarity.

"-- You will feel more relaxed, comfortable with yourself since effort and struggle is practically diminished.

"-- You will finally understand what it means to love yourself and the question of self-esteem is forever resolved.

"-- Fears start to drop by themselves as clarity becomes more established.

"-- There is a quiet enthusiasm for life and living with a heart open to wonder.

"-- Self-concern begins to drop until self-consciousness is diminished.

"-- When questions arise, there is almost an immediate seeing of the answer imbedded in the question itself.

"-- When problems arise there is no panic or even agitation as understanding between awareness and thought brings detachment.

"-- The world is seen with new eyes and begin to also see no separation.

"-- All seeking to attain, overcome and fix drop away like leaves in autumn.

"-- There’s a continual feeling of release from tension and stress even when presented by worldly activity.

"-- There’s compassion towards others since you see no separation.

"-- There’s a quiet inner excitement about ordinary things and activities.

"-- Someone commented that even washing dishes became a pleasant experience.

"-- There’s an incredible release from mental enslavement and conditioned nervous system with the realization of what thought is.

"-- Our greatest fear of emptiness gradually becomes our greatest joy.

"-- We finally wake up to what is real and lasting.

"-- Above all, we discover who we are and have always been."

"...(the) First important step (there’s nothing to find but understand what-is)..."

(Burt Harding, from "The Perfection of Awareness").]

Hay-Ku of the Day (Optimum Prayer)

Father I Wish to
Experience Being the
Awareness I Am.

Father I Wish to
Be Still and Experience
Being Awareness.

***

Father God I Wish
To Experience Being
Thy Infinite Peace.

Father God I Wish
To Experience Being
Thy Eternal Love.

***

Lord God I wish to
Experience Being Thy
Everlasting Light.

Lord God I wish to
Experience Being Thy
Absolute Fulness.

***

Father-Mother God
I wish to Experience
Being Thy Presence.

Father-Mother God
I wish to Experience
Being Thy Seeing.

***

Absolute Father
I Wish to Experience
Being All There Is.

Absolute Father
I Wish to Experience
Being Thy Vision.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:.." Matthew 7:7 KJV

"For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:8 KJV

[Rich: The Heartfelt Affinity, here, with respect to a relational Name for the Absolute or God the Father, is Father (or Father God), as Jesus suggested.  In any event, whenever the word "God" is used here it is with reference to the "Nameless Absolute." Paradoxically, it's a personal thing, so I would suggest using the particular appellation that resonates with your Heart.]

Hay-Ku of the Day (Thinking Otherwise)

I Am Never Not
The Awareness I Am but
May think otherwise.

I forget about
Being Awareness because
I focus on form.

I forget about
Being Awareness because
I fixate on thought.

(Minding what does not
Matter in the Grand Scheme of
Things troubles my mind.)

"There is never a time when you are not awareness. However, you forget about being awareness because you focus on what you are being aware of..."

"You are always aware, but, because you take everything personally, you place awareness into a thought form instead."

(Burt Harding, from "The Perfection of Awareness")

Hay-Ku of the Day (Be Still and Feel)

Being Here and Now
Still and Silent as I Am
One with the Father.

To Know I Am and
Just Be That is the Headstone
The Builders Reject.

In the Still Silent
Presence of the Awareness
I Am God is Here.

In the Still Silent
Presence of Being Aware
I Am One with God.

"Truth is available right this moment if you can just be still long enough to feel it."         -- Burt Harding
