Hay-Ku of the Day (One Safe Place)

(Zen Garden 8 Photograph)

Zen Garden 8 © 2002 RFHay; During 777 days I spent countless hours walking in this Garden in Narita, Japan; and never felt more safe or secure than when I had ‘lost myself” in the tangible stillness and silence of this "Safe Place"; Companion haiku: Accompanying.

The “One Safe Place” is
Being as I Am prior to
Self-reflective thought.

The “One Safe Place” is
Being Presence Here and Now
Prior to any thought.

[Rich Note: These were inspired by a beautiful, though bittesweet, song entitled “One Safe Place,” sung by Marc Cohen – a song which seems to underscore the ultimate futility of seeking that which we ourselves “always already are” prior to “thinking and believing otherwise.”]
