[Rich Note: The following three quotes from Stephen Wolinsky's "Rays of the Absolute, A Gita for Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj" support a related Jackson Peterson insight, but only up to the point of how one chooses to identify the "Nameless or Ineffable Absolute," that is necessarily prior to even "Awareness of Awareness" (which one might call the Supreme Witness/Awareness, Highest State of Consciousness, the Single Eye of God or I-I, as Sri Ramana did).

(1) "Nisargadatta Maharaj, 'stay in the consciousness as a portal to the absolute, be the consciousness as a portal to the absolute ... the Absolute is prior to consciousness.'"

(2) "Nisargadatta Maharaj: “All you can teach is understanding the rest comes on its own.” Discard all as not this not this, (neti-neti), Be the consciousness, as the portal to the Absolute. All layers or veils are consciousness to be discarded, The I Am and the sense of beingness is a temporary state, Prior to them is the consciousness also called the Self of All." ]

(3) Nisargadatta Maharaj, “ In the Absolute I do not even know that I am.”

[Rich Note: Although "Awareness of Awareness," which is admittedly beyond "Awareness of Being, Consciousness or I AM" -- as the Self, God of All or Absolute Manifest in "Transcendent, Immanent and Incarnate" States of Self-Awareness or Consciousness -- as Jackson has pointed out, It is not the Absolute; but an Apparent Vibrant State or appearance thereof and in.

Never-the-less, a case might be made for defining (at least partially, as Colin Drake recently concluded) the Absolute as Still or Pure Awareness (Unaware of Itself as THAT as a Stateless State or Absolute Potential to Be); and, in manifest Self-Expression, Vibrant Awareness (with "Awareness of Awareness" being the Highest or Primal State of Consciousness prior to Divine Self-Awareness or Consciousness as God or the Self of All)].
